Quick announcement

Hey, friend –

I owe you an apology.

Last week, I neglected to send out a Copywriter Column and a Weekly Round up. It’s the first time I’ve done that without prior notice.

In my opinion, one of the most powerful things a person can do as a creator of sorts – especially those of us who write newsletters – is to show up when you say you will. And it bothers me that I didn’t.

Truth be told, these newsletters (The Edit, Copywriter Column, and Weekly Round Up) take out a significant chunk of my free time – time that I’d normally spend doing freelance work, playing cars or watching K-Pop Demon Hunters with son for the 30th time, fishing, or simply reading for the hell of it.

And lately, I’ve struggled with that tension of where I’m spending my time.

I pride myself in “doing few things well,” and frankly, because I’ve spread myself thin, most things have gotten less than the best of me, including my family.

That said, I want to set a new expectation of what you can expect moving forward:

I am taking a much needed long break.

I’m pressing pause on The Copy Minimalist for an unknown period of time. I will still jump in from time-to-time and send out an update here and there (gotta keep that list warm, y’all), but nothing net-new for an extended period.

In the meantime, feel free to email me with questions about whatever. I will still check my inbox!

And be sure to support your fellow copywriting/marketing pals.

Chat soon,

Matt

Is it still holding up, or has your thinking moved past it?In today's issue of The Edit, I write about why these slow seasons are blessings in disguise and why you...
